It’s week number 5 of 6 of the One Room Challenge and I am happy to say that things are looking good for my Parisian eclectic powder room. If you are behind on my progress head on over to last week’s post to see how much we have accomplished this week

We had a bit of a snafu with the marble vanity top, but we got it worked out.
Before I get to this week’s post, let me tell you a bit about The One Room Challenge (ORC) for those new to the blog.
20 featured designers have 6 weeks to make over a room in their home or a client’s home and blog about the progress. Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home started this challenge back in 2011 and it happens every Spring and Fall. Other guest participants are welcomed to join in and blog about the progress of their space as well. This is my 6th time joining in as a guest participant. It’s fun and exhilarating, but a lot of hard work to pull off a room in 6 weeks.
So this week we hit another snafu with the p-trap

The p-trap is the fancy version of the drain pipe for the sink. The parts that came with it were not long enough for the height of the vanity, and we had to make a mad dash to find a solution. It’s likely something that we could order, but my photographer was coming today (she is booked out for next week so had to get photography done this week). My plumber ended up using a different piece and spray painting it to match. So my ORC is literally 5 weeks instead of 6. Imagine that pressure, right!?
I ended up having to call my carpenter to build me the reclaimed wood vanity shelf. The company I was going to use was a bit busy and I needed to keep things moving. Not exactly what I had originally envisioned, but it works well.
Some paint touchups had to happen too and then a good cleaning of the space.
So basically I am pretty ready. I had to rush to get it together on week 5, but better being ready for the reveal next week than being late.
Here are a few more snap shots from this week

How fabulous is this shade fabric? It was a must-have from the moment I first saw it. It took a bigger piece of my budget than I had planned, but I am happy with the finished roman shade. My workroom lady and his installer were here till late last night installing this and a few more rooms in preparation for today’s photography shoot

This is the zebra art that I mentioned from week 1. I bought this canvas on a trip to Soho, NY and finally got it framed. I went with an ornate frame as a juxtaposition to the whimsical and graphic art. The frame works well with the Parisian eclectic theme.
That’s all I have for you this week. Be sure to come back next Thursday for the big reveal! You definitely don’t want to miss that. It will be super fun to see my space and hundreds of other participants.
Feel free to check out the featured designers and other participants, and of course the sponsors
