Welcome back to the chaos that is my life. Haha. It really isn't chaos if you are having fun! We are already knee deep in the makeover of my master bedroom, and if you missed last week's post, check it out HERE
I am actually away at High Point Market, and started this post just before I left on Saturday. I proof read a bit, but I am certain there are some typos, so bear with me. :-)
Today's post is all about my amazing sponsors. I am in awe of the generosity of these kind folks. Please show them your support.
This past week was spent working on the architectural detailing of the ceiling and receiving boxes upon boxes of goodies for my room.
Check out some of the goodies I received. Well, you'll get to see what's inside soo enough
The ceiling now is 8 feet and had the builder basic texture. Imagine laying in bed at night and looking up at pop-corn ceiling's cousin. Haha. I decided to do a coffered ceiling. Well really, it is more of a paneled ceiling, kinda like you would do walls. I chose that route to avoid reducing the height of the ceiling too much.
Here's the first layer so far.
ORC sponsor Metrie was very generous in supplying the trim needed to complete the ceiling. Metrie has a wide range of finish trim and moldings to add sophistication to your home, and I cannot wait to see this finished.
The ceiling is not even completed yet and it has already elevated the space in a big way. Paint will be next. I decided to go with a classic white from one of my sponsors Kelly Moore, and will add an accent/highlight of black, also from Kelly Moore. You'll have to come back to see what that will look like.
My carpenter Getze with Woodpecker Cabinetry did a great job installing.
The next order of business will be changing out the chandelier to my gorgeous Hudson Valley sponsored chandelier, followed by the walls. I am super excited about these walls! I will be doing a grasscloth wallpaper on all four walls. I. CANNOT. WAIT! This will add so much depth and texture and sexy and bold and mood and sugar and spice to this bedroom.
Pacific Designs was so generous in providing all the wallpaper for my huge bedroom. Dorian has been so great to work with. I received a few samples and had a hard time choosing, because each one was more beautiful than the next. I eventually chose one and will share that info with you in a few weeks. Follow my instagram stories as I plan to show Don Dye, my wallpaper hanger as he does his thing!
The custom bed is slated to arrive in a couple of weeks. I used the Universal Furniture bed photo in the concept board as inspiration, and I cannot wait to get mine into place. I reached out to S&L Designs as I have in the past when I need custom metal work. They provided me with a great price and expedited service. Can't wait till it arrives
You are going to love the bedding I designed. The duvet cover will be in the Hunt Slonem bunny fabric from GPJ Baker. I worked with my Kravet rep Staci to get some great pricing. The bed will be topped with amazing custom pillows from Arianne Belle, which will up my bedding game majorly, and some gorgeous trim from Fabricut
The drapery fabric is a beautiful silk from Fabricut, which will be accented with the gorgeous trim. I was excited when I saw that Fabricut was one of the ORC sponsors. I love working with them and love their great selection of fabrics. The drapery panels are in production as we speak. My seamstress Mary of Drapery Etc is working hard to get them to me in record time. The hardware was sponsored by my good friends over at Helser Brothers. Thanks Jay, for always being so generous. You may recall that I also used Helser Brothers Hardware throughout the lower level of my home. Here is a shot of the drapery hardware in my living room. Gorgeous, right? I can't wait for these to arrive
The bed will be anchored by a beautiful custom sofa. I reached out to April, owner of Creative Style Furniture, a custom upholstery company here in Houston, and she graciously agreed to sponsor not just the sofa, but the custom upholstered desk from the Veronica Solomon Style Collection that I designed, and reupholstering and refinishing the desk chair. Thank you April and team for your generosity and quality craftsmanship. Hope to get them installed soon
I was so excited to use buillon fringe from Houles on the sofa. I have been wanting to do a piece with buillon fringe for a long time, but not many clients would be on board with that. That's what's great about the ORC. You get to design for yourself and do whatever your heart desires. Fingers crossed that the trim arrives soon from France and the Fabric from Clark and Clark in the UK
Lamps Plus was generous enough to provide the two faux fur ottomans and the side table that will be placed next to my dramatic wing back chair from Scout Design Studio. I fell hard a fast for the chair. I had it covered in a Clark and Clark fabric. The silhouette is perfect for my moody master bedroom. I just got it in, and it is AMAZING! I am adding even more drama to the chair
Let me tell ya that upgrading my light switches and door handles is one of those details that will support this room and elevate it to major heights. LeGrand was generous in providing me with all the outlets, plates and switches for my bedroom and even my bathroom. I did not realize that electrical parts could be sexy, but they are soooo dang sexxxay - especially the Magnesium finish I chose. I cannot wait to have them installed.
I can't wait to show you the gorgeous door hardware from Emtek. They are muy bonita! You'll see. It is often the area that homeowners overlook, that can add so much to a space.
The art sponsored by Minted will be framed in the next week or so and I also had a series of nine custom pieces done by artist Mike Owen based in Dallas. I haven't seen them yet. So excited to see how he interpreted my vision. I was hoping to have all the art be at the framers before I leave for High Point Market, but hopefully as soon as I get back.
I am already sourcing some great finishing touches for the bedroom - I am excited about my sponsored Varaluz floor mirror. So gorgeous! And the gorgeous faux florals from NDI.
I can already see the room finished in my head, but honestly, I feel like it's so far from being finished. Some things that I expected to be here already haven't arrived yet, and that always gets me nervous.
Well, it's not my first rodeo. There is always a bit of compromising that needs to happen. We will see how this develops in the next week.
Come back to see the progress. I will be relying on my "village" to pull off this one
