Those who have been following my blog and Facebook pages for a while might know that fabrics is one of my most favorite parts of my job as an Interior Decorator. I enjoy using fabric as the jumping off point for creating beautiful and dynamic rooms. This is evident by my very large sample library at my design studio. I can’t get enough of the softness and beautiful patterns and textures that fabrics bring to a room. Fabric is the glue that holds together a well appointed room.
Imagine how excited I was when I finally received my Sarah Richardson collection sample book! For anyone who doesn’t know who Sarah Richardson is – she is the wildly popular designer and TV host for several shows on HGTV. Her classic and non-fussy approach to the rooms she designs is very evident in this beautiful collection she created for Kravet. As a mother with a young family herself, she fully appreciates that rooms are to be designed for real life. Here is a video courtesy of Kravet.com, where she explains her thought process and inspiration behind her collection
Well, I am sure you are ready to see examples of this beautiful collection! Here goes:

This beautiful book is arranged in several colorways with a range of patterns from geometrics, to stripes to stylized florals in a variety of scales and textures that all coordinate with each other. This makes layering and pulling a room together effortless. Each fabric has a wonderful hand – mostly linens and woven. They are lightweight enough for draperies and bedding, and have enough body for upholstery needs. The best part is that they are very reasonably priced, which I am very excited about.
Here are a couple coordinating schemes that I shot directly from my sample book

Sarah’s signature approach to interiors blends classic influences with modern innovation to find the right balance for today. Her fresh approach to interiors is wonderfully captured in this beautiful fabric collection.
