Back in June 2016, we completed the very first Solomon Project nursery makeover. The Solomon Project is a pregnancy help ministry we started last year, which seeks to help young pregnant mothers with some of the basic needs for their babies. Not only do we provide the basic items like cribs, car seats, diapers, clothing and blankets, we also create a beautiful and functional nursery space or bedroom for both mother and baby. Learn more about The Solomon Project Ministry here. Take a look back at our first project here
Our goal is to complete 4 projects per year; one per quarter. We reach out to the community through social media for volunteers and donations of new and gently used baby items, as well as cash donations to be able to provide this service for our moms
We work with Pregnancy Help Center Katy to identify the young mothers that we assist. We also ask for members of the community to nominate a young mom who could use our help. Nominate someone here
The recent project completed in December was for a young lady name Tiffany, who is due in February. She is a mom of two and is expecting a baby girl whom she named Ryleigh. She too was referred by The Pregnancy help Center.
When I first met Tiffany in her home, the project was a bit bigger than I was expecting. She had recently had flooding in her home, and all the carpet had to be removed. We typically don’t do floors for these projects, but I decided to help as much as possible with providing flooring for her as well as all the baby needs she had. Tiffany only had a few baby items, and so she needed a bit of everything
This is what the space looked like before we started

We set to work soliciting donations from the community. As usual, we had a great response from donors and well wishers. We were able to get most of the major items like the car eat and stroller, a crib, changing table, bedding for the crib, bedding for Tiffany’s bed, a headboard, curtains, as well as many of the smaller items
Getting the flooring was a huge challenge. We had many promises that fell through at the last minute, but I eventually had two young ladies donate the cost of purchasing remnant carpet and pay for an installer.
Here’s what the room looks like now
It is an awesome feeling to create a space from donated items

Tiffany was seeing the room for the first time. I could tell she was a bit overwhelmed, but loved the room
The carpet was not yet installed. It was installed a few days later
Here’s the video tour of the room
Hopefully Tiffany will share pictures of baby Ryleigh when she arrives in February
Thanks to all who so generously donated to this worthy cause. We are so thankful for the prayers, volunteer hours, cash donations and donation of baby items
Stay tuned for our Onesie Drive coming up from February 7th to 14th to benefit The Solomon Project Ministry. We invite the community to drop off new and gently used onesies at our studio at 5602 Franz Rd Katy TX 77493. They can also be mailed to us if you are out of state and would like to donate
Special thanks to Lola (Katy TX) who so generously gave her time and talents to hand making these beautiful blankets for upcoming projects. Watch out for the next installation this March
Wishing You Beauty And Inspiration!
